One of God’s Greatest Gifts is Wisdom

“Wisdom has the advantage of giving success.” (Ecc. 10:10).

I am reading a very good book right now; it is called “Decision Making and the Will of God.” By Garry Friesen.   The book begins that God uses the Bible to give us direction. There are certain things written in the Bible that has either a yes or no, do or don’t answer, what I refer to as a plain answer. It is the way that it is, because that is what God says it is. There are situations in life where can go right to the Bible and find the answer, but what about the questions we have that are not addressed?

God in his love for us wants us to love him freely and by our own choice. He is so polite that he will never go where He is not welcomed, so knowing this, He gives us free will. He wants us to choice Him, to love Him! We have an open invitation to join Him and walk with Him, to have a loving relationship and a place in eternal Paradise, if we believe……

Believe it what? Believe in Him, believe that He is the one and only true Living God! He is the I AM, the Alpha and the Omega! God, who sent His only child to die for us for our sins, so that we can have an opportunity to live forever with Him in Heaven. I cannot even imagine sending my child to die for sins of another!

Back to Wisdom, another gift that He gives us for the asking. When I am not sure of the answer, and it is within the realm of free will in making my decision, I pray for God to give me wisdom to make that choice and to do His will, always bringing Glory to Him!

“The pursuit of wisdom in decision making permeates the entire Bible!” The Bible is full of writings on wisdom. Proverbs is direction after direction on how to apply wisdom to your life! I love how Jesus commanded His servants to be wise- “Be shrewd as serpents.” (Matthew 10:16).

People in the Bible asked for wisdom, and received it because they asked for it. They were not any different than us; they simply asked and received it. They followed God’s directions as he said in His Word, “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened for you. “Matthew 7:7.

James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

“In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden.” Colossians 2: 3 (Amplified Bible).

What have you asked for today?

I absolutely love teaching, reading, Genealogy, Bible Studies, spending time with my family and friends!
